Furthermore…, LLC is the creation of two partners who hail from the D.C. Metropolitan Area – Lisa Johann and Tiaundra Elise Shirley, who is Lisa’s daughter. The passion to design was engrained in them and the desire to begin a handmade jewelry business has been prevalent for many years. As soon as the opportune moment arose, they took it and Furthermore… has, since, come into fruition.
Their grandmother, Nellie G. Brown (Grandma Brown) is their inspiration, one of the driving forces behind what they do, and the motivation for the company name. Dorothy J. Lancaster (Dot) was Grandma Brown’s niece who designed jewelry and clothing. Dot left numerous beads with Grandma Brown and many years ago Lisa and her sisters inherited the assortment of beads. Unfortunately, over the years many of the beads have been lost or destroyed during moves, but it never destroyed their passion and yearning to follow their dream. Today, many of the beads used are from Dot and Grandma Brown’s collection.
The company name literally comes straight out of their grandmother’s mouth and was a word heard more often than not. Just when you thought she was finished speaking, you would hear, “Furthermore….”
Furthermore…, LLC’s goal is to bring to you new and exciting pieces to accentuate your wardrobe. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. Their design style is eclectic, funky, and chic as their jewelry is made to be abstract art for your wardrobe.
Let us take your wardrobe one step further!
Lisa Johann would describe her design style as funky and unique. She is the proud mother of Tiaundra Elise, her co-partner in Furthermore.... Lisa is, also, an alumna of Salisbury State College, having earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. What she enjoys most about the business is that she is able to express her creative side. Her favorite quote, which also describes how she strives to live life, states, "I shall pass this way but once, therefore any kindness I can show to anyone, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
Tiaundra Elise Shirley is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She describes her style as Bohemian Chic and loves to play with color. Pegged as a free spirit and daydreamer, Tiaundra will very rarely be seen without a book, paper and pen, or her headphones. The quote that speaks to her the most and that she lives by is, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."
